Police have charged a second person in connection with an April shooting in Evanston.
Cajmere T. Lemond, 19, of Evanston, faces two felony counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and one felony count of mob action.
On May 14, police tracked down and apprehended Lemond, whom they suspected of being involved in the earlier shooting. Police claim they seized two loaded weapons from Lemond’s rucksack. An inquiry revealed that one of the firearms had a reported theft record from Ohio.
At 6:06 p.m. on April 21, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 700 block of Howard Street. Officers discovered gunfire inside a business, as well as a victim who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim was sent to a local hospital.
Lemond will stay in detention until his next court appearance on June 11.
