Houston police are investigating after a body was discovered Saturday evening in Greens Bayou, near Interstate 10, in east Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers arrived to the bayou near Uvalde Road at 6:34 p.m. after a fisherman discovered the body and contacted 911.
According to investigators, the body of an adult man was discovered at the bayou’s side, near the water.
Police said the body looked to have been in the water for several days, making it difficult for detectives to ascertain the man’s age, race, or other distinguishing characteristics.
Houston police homicide investigators, the department’s dive team, and the Harris County medical examiner all went to the area to recover the body.
Authorities stated they do not believe the death is suspicious, but the investigation is still underway.
Police stated that there is no known threat to the public.
