The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that state troopers detained 41 people and recovered drugs and firearms during a criminal interdiction operation in Tucson and Phoenix.
Highway Patrol officers took part in the operation on May 13 as part of Desert Guardian.
According to authorities, those arrested included individuals wanted on outstanding warrants, as well as suspects facing drug and weapon offenses.
During the operation, investigators reported seizing fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, as well as several guns.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Operation Desert Guardian is a multi-agency operation to combat crimes such as human trafficking, drug trafficking, weapons trafficking, and impaired driving throughout Arizona.
