A man is facing federal charges following a reported armed bank robbery on Monday afternoon near Biltmore Fashion Park.
Around 12:30 p.m., police were called to a robbery at Chase Bank near 27th Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix.
According to FBI officials, a man entered the bank and fired one shot into the ceiling with an AK-47 weapon.
The robber reportedly fled the scene in a box truck with an undisclosed sum of money.
The robbery caused no injuries to anyone inside the bank.
A Phoenix Police Department air unit pursued the suspect until a K-9 unit deployed a “Grappler” gadget to stop it roughly 15 minutes north of Anthem on Interstate 17.
The suspect, who has yet to be identified, was arrested and is anticipated to face federal charges in connection with the crime.
