Detectives with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a Winter Park man Tuesday during an undercover operation targeting people accused of attempting to solicit minors online.
Authorities stated that investigators posed as minors online as part of an effort to discover and apprehend child predators before they could damage children.
According to authorities, 54-year-old Alan Manning Chambers thought he was talking to a 14-year-old boy but was actually speaking with an undercover officer.
According to detectives, Chambers sought to meet the person in person and was arrested on May 19, 2026.
Chambers is now facing the following charges:
- Solicitation of a Minor
- Transmission of Harmful Material to Minors
- Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device
Investigators stated they are looking into whether there are any more minor victims connected to Chambers.
