Illegal immigrant truck driver from India taken into custody in deadly California hit-and-run after Biden release

An illegal immigrant truck driver was arrested Tuesday for allegedly causing a fatal multi-vehicle incident in California and attempting to flee the scene, according to federal officials.

Manvir Singh, an unauthorized Indian immigrant, allegedly killed two persons near Lodi.

Singh, who is facing several crimes, allegedly entered the United States illegally through Arizona in 2023 before being released by the Biden administration, according to federal officials.

DHS has arrested the fourth illegal immigrant truck driver with the surname “Singh” in a deadly incident since last year. This highlights a growing trend of illegal commercial drivers from India. Allowing illegal aliens, many of whom do not speak English, to obtain CDLs to operate 18-wheelers and move hazardous goods on American highways is foolish and extremely dangerous to public safety, officials said.

According to Legal Advocate, at about 12:20 p.m., Singh went off a road and collided with a railing, causing a crash involving three other vehicles.

He then attempted to flee the wreckage on foot before being apprehended by officers from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, according to officials.

Singh is facing various counts, including vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, hit-and-run resulting in death or injury, and refusing or obstructing a police officer, according to the DHS.

ICE has requested a detainer from California authorities to retain the suspect until they may be transferred to federal custody. “This criminal illegal alien from India should never have been behind the wheel of a semi-truck and killed two innocent people in a multi-vehicle crash in California,” Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis stated. This is simply another illustration of why illegal aliens should not drive trucks on American highways. We need Congress to approve Dalilah’s Law, which would bar states from providing commercial driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.

Dalilah’s Law is a proposed federal bill that would prohibit states from providing commercial driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. It is named after Dalilah Coleman, a little girl who had life-changing injuries in a California incident in 2024 that was reportedly caused by an illegal immigrant driver.

The mishap on Tuesday is only one of several recent occurrences involving illegal immigrant truck drivers accused of causing fatalities, according to officials.

In April, ICE detained an illegal immigrant truck driver who had obtained a CDL in California. He was charged with murdering a newlywed couple in Oregon on November 24, 2025. Authorities say he was initially freed from jail in a sanctuary jurisdiction before being apprehended by federal investigators.

On February 3, another illegal immigrant truck driver in Pennsylvania was suspected of killing four people after driving into oncoming traffic and colliding with a van.

Last December, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) reported that an American was murdered by a Chinese national and CDL holder who allegedly failed an English proficiency test following the crash. According to DHS, the driver entered the US from Mexico in 2023.

In August, Harjinder Singh, an illegal immigrant, was arrested on three counts of vehicular murder after allegedly performing an illegal U-turn through an “Official Use Only” entry point in St. Lucie County, Florida. According to authorities, the irresponsible maneuver obstructed all traffic lanes, resulting in a crash that killed three individuals.
