A 41-year-old Riverview man faces multiple felony charges following a sexual abuse investigation involving a teenager, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies apprehended Karl Slazinski on Saturday after detectives obtained a warrant the previous day.
The inquiry began on May 7, 2026, when detectives discovered evidence that Slazinski had been speaking with a 15-year-old victim since around May 2023. According to authorities, Slazinski met with the youngster several times in Hillsborough County over a three-year period, during which sexual acts took place.
Slazinski is now facing five specific charges: utilizing a kid in a sexual performance, lewd or lascivious battery, traveling to see a minor after using online services or devices to solicit illegal activities, transmitting damaging material to a youngster, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
“This adult exploited and manipulated a child for years, using communication and calculated grooming to commit these horrific crimes,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. “Protecting children remains one of our highest priorities, and our detectives worked tirelessly to build this case and ensure this individual is held accountable.”
Authorities stated that the inquiry is ongoing.
