Orange County deputies are looking into a deadly shooting that occurred Monday evening in Apopka.
Deputies rushed to a residence on South Central Avenue at 5:30 p.m. on May 25, where they discovered a woman—subsequently identified as Olinka Jabitta, 56—with a gunshot wound, according to the sheriff’s office.
She was rushed to the hospital, where she eventually died of her injuries.
Neighbors told FOX 35 that they heard numerous gunshots and detailed persistent issues on the property where the incident occurred. One adjacent resident released surveillance video showing the sound of gunshots, including two bullets separated by many seconds.
Several neighbors reported past events involving shooting in the vicinity. One resident stated that their house had been hit by gunfire on previous occasions.
Deputies were observed handcuffing at least one woman on Monday night, but the sheriff’s office has yet to announce whether an arrest has been made or whether the person is connected to the incident.
The inquiry is ongoing, and authorities have not disclosed any additional information.
