Two people were apprehended during a high-speed chase involving a stolen truck from Mississippi that ended in Mobile County.
According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, the driver, Charles Mott, purposely slammed three sheriff’s vehicles before being arrested along with passenger Stephanie Valentine.
The MCSO stated that deputies pursued the truck from Moffett Road and Schillinger Road to Snow Road and Brooklyn’s Way. This occurred after authorities tried a traffic stop on a 2014 Chevrolet C35 that matched the description of a car reported stolen from George County, Mississippi.
The pair is also suspected of robbing a 66-year-old man on Cleborne Road in Chunchula, beating him in the head, and stealing over $1,000.
According to the MCSO, Mott faces charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree receiving stolen property, felony attempting to evade, fugitive from justice, three counts of first-degree criminal mischief, and three instances of second-degree assault.
Valentine is accused of first-degree robbery, second-degree possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both individuals have further charges in Mississippi.
According to the MCSO, Mott experienced a medical issue during the booking procedure and was transported to a local hospital. Mott was booked into Metro Jail at 8:29 a.m. on Wednesday, and his arrest photo showed a bandaged head.
