Rockford Police arrested two people after discovering a stolen vehicle on Tuesday, May 26.
According to police, officers were patrolling the 1100 block of 10th Avenue about 2:42 a.m. when they discovered the reported stolen vehicle.
Officers attempted to begin a traffic stop, but the driver fled after failing to obey a stop sign.
Officials said the driver, subsequently identified as Terrence Herd, 53, ran another stop sign before coming to a halt and exiting the vehicle with 29-year-old Dakota Wilson. They then escaped on foot.
Herd and Wilson were later caught and transported to the Winnebago County Jail.
Both face various accusations, including obstructing a peace officer and criminal trespassing on automobiles.
