A Pennsylvania man stopped for gas on his way home from a weekend at the beach in Maryland and won $50,000 in the lottery.
The Wrightsville man told Maryland Lottery officials that he and his wife were on their way home after a weekend at their vacation home in Ocean City when he stopped for gas and purchased a $5 Winning Streak scratch-off ticket from the Royal Farms on Pulaski Highway in Elkton.
The man stated that he forgot about the ticket until his wife delivered it to him at home a few days later.
The couple was surprised to learn that they had won $50,000.
The man stated that the majority of his prize money will be used to pay off his automobile, with the remainder saved.
