On May 26, detectives arrested Parren Eric Swann, 61, of Oxon Hill, in connection with a May 10 assault on Brookwood Drive in White Plains. The incident occurred around 5:17 p.m., when the victim pulled into Brookwood Drive from Billingsley Road and noticed a car approaching her on the wrong side of the road.
After honking her car horn, the suspect pulled up in front of her, brandished a handgun, and approached the victim and her mother, who was in the front passenger seat.
As the victims fled, the suspect fired two rounds, hitting and destroying their vehicle. The suspect approached the passenger side and pointed a gun at the front-seat passenger, then fled in a black Jeep Gladiator.
Officers investigated the area and collected leads, and detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division identified Swann as a probable suspect, confirming that he had a similar vehicle.
Detectives served a search warrant to Swann’s Oxon Hill home, assisted by the Prince George’s County Police Department. Swann, who was present at the apartment, was detained following further inquiry and developments. Two firearms were found inside the home.
Investigators then executed a second search warrant at Swann’s storage unit in Waldorf, seizing three additional weapons. Swann was taken to the Charles County Detention Center and charged with first- and second-degree assault, firearms violations, and other connected offences.
Swann is forbidden from carrying firearms under an active protective order unrelated to this case. He is currently being held in the Charles County Detention Center without bond. Detective Gregory is investigating.
