Cleveland Heights officials Sunday announced the arrest of one suspect in the murder of a local teenager.
The shooting happened Thursday afternoon, July 16, outside the Noble Food Deal. The victim, 19-year-old Isaac Martin of South Euclid, died after being taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.
According to a city press release, police identified the shooter on July 19 as Collin Funches, 26, of Cleveland, following a 72-hour manhunt involving various agencies. Police charged Funches with aggravated murder on Tuesday, July 21.
He was given a $1 million bond.
According to the announcement, Funches was caught driving a stolen automobile in Garfield Heights on Saturday night by flock cameras. Garfield Heights police arrested him at a gas station.
Funches’ court date has not been set.
While Funches sits in the Cleveland Heights jail, municipal officials are still looking for his accomplice.
According to authorities, Funches fled the scene with an accomplice in a stolen red Kia, driving into East Cleveland following the shooting.
The Kia was then allegedly set on fire at the intersection of Holyoke Avenue and East 133rd Street.
