After communicating with his relatives and detecting electronic pings from his automobile, officials suspected he was on his way to Superior or a family cabin near Amnicon Lake.
On July 27, his car was discovered on a trail between Pioneer Trail and Tower Fire Lane, west of Bear Lake and east of Carlson Road.
His body was discovered after a search over the next few days.
