An Indianapolis man is facing almost 70 years in prison for filming himself raping a woman and a 12-year-old girl two years ago.
On Thursday, Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears revealed that Teshon Gardner, 23, had been sentenced to 76 years in prison after pleading guilty to child molestation and rape. Gardner is now considered a sexually violent predator under Indiana law.
Gardner’s sentence arises from a rape that occurred at a home on S. Worth Avenue in late June 2024. According to police, Gardner entered a home on Indianapolis’ west side and sexually assaulted a lady and a child.
The woman told investigators that Gardner arrived at the front door wearing an American flag mask and armed with a rifle, wanting to be let inside. He then raped the woman and her 12-year-old daughter while filming the incident on his cell phone.
Officers nabbed Gardner during a traffic check after locating him in a blue Ford F-150.
Gardner was then charged in Marion Superior Court 30 with 19 counts of rape, child molestation, and sexual battery. Gardner entered a plea deal on Thursday, agreeing to plead guilty to only two of those offenses, each for 38 years.
