Over 100 grams of crack cocaine seized in Belmont County during traffic stop, Cleveland man arrested

A traffic stop near St. Clairsville resulted in the arrest of a Cleveland man and the recovery of suspected drugs after a months-long investigation, according to the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives from the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit and the Ohio Organized Crime Investigation Commission carried out the stop on Mall Road on Tuesday.

Cleveland resident Donald Daniels, 36, was apprehended by authorities.

During the car stop, investigators seized approximately 110 grams of suspected crack cocaine/cocaine and 132 grams of marijuana.

According to Belmont County Sheriff James G. Zusack, the amount of suspected narcotics collected qualifies Daniels as a major drug offender under Ohio law.

He is being jailed under a $1 million bond.
