Police have identified the remains discovered in West Price Hill on July 30.
Mercedes Southard was discovered in a forested location off Minion Avenue and identified via dental data, according to authorities.
Southard vanished from the West Price Hill area on February 3. According to investigators, Southard walked away from a residence and has not been seen since.
Her cause of death has not been disclosed, but the homicide investigation unit is now looking into the matter.
Southard’s family has set up a donation page to aid with her burial and support her children.
