Man wanted in Georgia child molestation case taken into custody in Chicago

A man wanted in Georgia on felony child molestation charges was taken into custody in Chicago this week following an investigation by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

Jalynn Montgomery, 25, was wanted by authorities in Savanna, Georgia, for allegedly sending an obscene photo of himself to a child.

On July 29, the United States Marshals Southeast Fugitive Task Force sought Cook County officials for assistance in locating Montgomery.

Montgomery is said to live in the 6600 block of South Rockwell Street in Chicago’s Marquette Park area and drive a 2014 Chevrolet Captiva.

On Wednesday morning, investigators surveiled the property and later noticed the Captiva driving to the garage.

Officers stopped the vehicle and discovered Montgomery in the passenger seat. He was ordered out of the automobile and put into arrest without incident, according to officials.

Montgomery remains in Cook County Jail, awaiting extradition to Georgia.
