Three women were detained on shoplifting charges after reportedly stealing over $2,200 in items from several establishments on Newbury Street.
Officers from District D-4 were conducting a theft investigation in the neighborhood about 5 p.m. Tuesday when they were informed that three females were concealing items inside the Alo store.
Police took a photo of the suspects and spotted them traveling along Newbury Street toward Berkley Street.
When authorities halted the individuals, one became extremely uncooperative and screamed at them, according to police.
The suspects were handcuffed, and officers discovered several stolen products from Alo, Princess Polly, Victoria Secret, Lululemon, and Dicks Sporting Goods that still had their tags attached.
The entire value of the stolen merchandise was determined to be $2,260.07, and all items were promptly returned to the affected retailers.
Janiya Nunes, 18, of South Boston, faces charges of theft under $1,200, shoplifting by asportation, and conspiracy.
Kayla McDaniel, 19, of Dorchester, was charged with shoplifting and conspiracy.
Jahmyia Ennis-Fonville, 20, of Dorchester, faces charges of theft under $1,200, shoplifting by asportation, and obtaining a stolen credit card.
Ennis-Fonville also had five active arrest warrants for theft over $1,200, larceny of a motor vehicle, larceny from a building, receiving stolen property, and shoplifting by asportation.
All three accused are anticipated to appear in Boston Municipal Court.
