One person is dead after a crash on Interstate 90 early Sunday, according to the Bratenahl Police Department.
Around 1:13 a.m., officers responded to I-90 near Eddy Road for a major motor vehicle collision involving a car and a motorcycle, according to police.
According to police, a 55-year-old South Euclid resident was fatally injured in the incident and died on the scene.
Police said the car’s driver, a 31-year-old Cleveland male, left the scene but was apprehended shortly thereafter.
Charges are pending in Cleveland Municipal Court, and police say they expect charges such as aggravated vehicular murder, failure to stop after an accident, and driving under the influence.
In a statement, the department stated, “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.” We thank the officers and first responders who responded to the crash and assisted with the investigation.”
