Two Boston EMS EMTs were hospitalized after they were allegedly assaulted by a patient they were trying to help Saturday afternoon, according to police.
Officers came to Boston Medical Center around 3:19 p.m. for a report of assault and battery.
Police said the victims were two EMTs who reported being beaten while attempting to offer medical attention to a patient near 4 Cheney Street in Roxbury.
According to authorities, the incident resulted in minor injuries for the EMTs. They have now been released.
“Our members put themselves in difficult and unpredictable situations every day to care for the people of Boston,” Boston EMS wrote about X. “There is no room for violence against our members. They are there to assist, and they deserve to return home safely after each shift.
The incident is still under investigation.
