Police say the man who fatally shot himself in downtown Toledo Sunday morning was wanted in the Detroit area for allegedly killing his mother, according to reports.
The Lucas County Coroner’s Office announced Tuesday that Trent Stoddard, 41, died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Police stopped him in the parking lot of a restaurant on Broadway at the time of the incident, and St. Vincent pronounced him deceased at 10:21 a.m.
According to our Detroit ABC affiliate, police were searching for Stoddard in connection to the death of his 67-year-old mother in Wyandotte, Mich.
Authorities then used Flock technology to track Stoddard to Toledo.
