A Rutland man won $50,000 after placing a $10 online lottery bet.
Edward Brackett won the $50,000 prize while playing “The Lamp,” an online-only eInstant game accessible through Mass Lottery Online, according to the lottery.
Brackett collected his prize, before taxes, at the Lottery’s offices in Dorchester. After winning, Brackett immediately called his wife to deliver the news and celebrate with her.
Lottery wins worth $50,000 or more earned through internet purchases must be claimed at the Lottery’s Dorchester headquarters.
Online lottery games are only available to players over the age of 21. When playing online or depositing funds into an account, players must be physically based in Massachusetts.
