A woman is charged with DUI after state troopers say she drove through a railing and fence and into a lake in Seminole County.
Troopers say the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Maitland Avenue and Lake Shore Drive in Altamonte Springs.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 26-year-old Qualana Pickard, who has been recognised by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, ran off the road while travelling south on Maitland Avenue.
Pickard struck a guardrail and a fence before hitting the lake, according to troopers.
According to FHP, she swam to safety and was treated at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs for minor injuries.
According to troopers, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office detained Pickard when her vehicle was recovered from the water.
She is being jailed on a $1000 bond.
