An Indianapolis woman reportedly hit a man with her car following an argument, eventually standing over him and saying that no one was going to call the police to help him.
According to court records, Chasidy Stallworth was accused in Marion County with:
- One count of aggravated battery – posing a substantial risk of death, a Level 3 felony
- One count of aggravated battery – causing serious permanent disfigurement, a Level 3 felony
- One count of domestic battery by means of a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony
- One count of battery by means of a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony
- One count of domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a Level 5 felony
- One count of battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a Level 5 felony
On September 10, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a person being struck by a vehicle on the northwest side of Indianapolis. When authorities came, they reported that a male was found lying in the road.
According to the paperwork, the man was brought to a nearby hospital with multiple injuries. The individual was reported to be in critical condition.
Officers reportedly spoke with a lady later identified as Stallworth, who told them that she had been in an altercation before the event. According to the records, Stallworth alleged that things turned violent while they were seated in the vehicle, prompting the male to escape and jump in front of her vehicle before being struck.
However, many witnesses on the scene, as well as security footage, provided IMPD with a different version of what allegedly happened.
One witness on the scene informed officers that the two people were in Stallworth’s vehicle. According to the records, the witness saw Stallworth attempt to hit the man and hurl his personal goods from the car. This comes after another person informed police that the man was “trying to de-escalate the situation.”
The witness then said that the man got out of the vehicle and began to walk away, prompting Stallworth, who another person described as the “primary aggressor in the altercation,” to reportedly get back into her vehicle and accelerate at him. According to the documents, another witness told police that the victim had been carried many yards down the street.
A video from a nearby apartment complex on the city’s northwest side purportedly captured the incident. According to the records, after the victim was hit by the vehicle, Stallworth exited the vehicle and approached him “calmly” while he lay on the ground. “(Stallworth) stood over (the man) as he lay motionless for a moment and began to reach up toward her,” the docs stated in describing the video.
At that point, another witness claimed the man called for someone to call the cops. According to the records, Stallworth reportedly reacted with, “B****, ain’t anybody calling anything.” According to the docs, Stallworth then snatched the man’s cell phone and flung it on the ground.
The court filings revealed that Stallworth’s initial hearing was planned for Wednesday afternoon. Stallworth is being held on no bond until the hearing is completed. According to court filings, a bail bigger than the standard is being contemplated in this case.
