A Hyattsville man won the top prize of $100,000 on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off ticket purchased in Hillandale.
According to MD Lottery, the winner purchased the $10 High Voltage ticket at Hillandale Beer & Wine, which is situated at 10117 New Hampshire Avenue.
He scratched the ticket at home and discovered that he had matched the number 49, winning $100,000, before going to the store to scan the ticket and confirm the victory.
The man, an enthusiastic lottery player who prefers scratch-offs and Pick 4, claimed he immediately called family members to tell the news. When he accepted the reward on September 23, he had not yet determined what to do with his cash.
