LuAnn Chico of Lexington experienced a remarkable sense of déjà vu when she secured a $100,000 prize for the second time while playing the Ruby Red 7’s game.
She had previously won $100,000 playing Ruby Red 7’s in August 2025.
“I won again! I’m excited! More this time than last,” Chico beamed. “I’m thrilled to death.”
Chico was grocery shopping at the Food Lion on North N.C. Highway 150 in Winston-Salem when she decided to try her luck on her favorite game. She could not believe her eyes when the $20 ticket revealed she had won again.
“That’s all it is, it’s luck. I got good luck,” laughed Chico.
Chico arrived at the lottery headquarters on Monday to claim her prize. After state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $72,016.
Last year’s prize went towards her four grandchildren. While they are still receiving some of it, Chico affirmed that this second win will be used on a beach vacation with her husband.
The Ruby Red 7’s game debuted in August 2025 with nine $100,000 prizes. One $100,000 prize remains to be claimed.
