A Georgia woman employed as a DoorDash driver was reportedly discovered dismembered inside a plastic tub.
Kingston Bradley, 18, was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with concealing a death. According to reporting by local independent news outlet WANF, a witness allegedly observed Bradley dragging a plastic tub through the Park Valley Apartments in Smyrna, Georgia, where he resides, on Wednesday. After being spotted by the witness, Bradley reportedly dropped the tub and fled the scene.
Local NBC affiliate WXIA reported that, according to an arrest warrant they obtained, the witness was Michelle Weaver, the aunt of 26-year-old Shanteria “Tia” Mosely, a woman who departed for work as a DoorDash driver Wednesday morning and ceased responding to messages from her family. In an interview with WXIA, Weaver stated that Mosely’s family began searching for her independently, and their efforts led them to the Park Valley Apartments.
Weaver informed WXIA that Mosely’s family tracked the woman’s phone to locate her. First, they located her car at a location indicated by her phone. The family knocked on doors throughout the apartment complex and searched a wooded area nearby. During their search, Weaver stated, they contacted the police, and an officer responded. Weaver reported that they guided the officer to the location where Mosely’s phone last pinged. The officer then “knocked on like three guys’ doors” and apparently departed.
After the officer left, the family observed one of the apartment residents, later identified as Bradley, looking out one of the windows. The family knocked on that apartment’s door and spoke with Bradley, who informed them he never saw anyone exit Mosely’s car.
Weaver informed WXIA that they soon observed Bradley again, “throwing a bag, like something with a cloth. It’s like a bag kind of cloth, like maybe a laundry bag, and it had, like, a container in it. He kind of threw it and he ran.” WXIA reported that in the arrest warrant, police stated Weaver told them she saw Bradley carrying a plastic tub around 8:15 p.m.
According to police, a dismembered woman’s torso was allegedly found inside the tub. Weaver informed WXIA that she and other family members recognized a tattoo on the torso that Mosely had. As of Friday, police have not publicly identified Mosely as the victim.
Police reported that they searched the apartment where Bradley resided and discovered evidence of blood, including a saw covered in blood. The apartment allegedly smelled strongly of bleach, and a bucket, a mop, and a bottle of carpet cleaner were all found inside.
Bradley remains in custody at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. WANF reported that he is scheduled to appear in court again on Oct. 7.
