FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — A 25-year-old man died after the vehicle he drove ran off the road, hit several trees and ejected him in Fairfield County, according to the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office.
Coroner Chris Hill identified the driver as Kendrick “KJ” Stringfellow of Blair.
The coroner’s office responded Saturday morning, Sept. 26, to Newberry Road near Old Blair Road in Blair after a single-vehicle crash.
According to Hill, Stringfellow was driving an unrestrained Chevy Tahoe when it left the roadway and hit numerous trees, ejecting him from the vehicle.
Stringfellow suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Newberry Pathology will conduct an autopsy to determine his cause of death.
The Fairfield County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the crash.
