According to police, a McDonald’s employee in Tennessee drew a knife and waved the blade at a customer after telling her, “go and die, fat b,.”
Cedric Johnson, 38, now faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the September 23 confrontation at the McDonald’s on Vantage Way Court in Nashville, as detailed in an affidavit obtained by local NBC affiliate WSMV.
The incident occurred shortly before midnight when an argument that began in the drive‑through escalated inside the restaurant, police reports state.
The customer entered the restaurant seeking a manager to lodge a complaint about the dispute, the affidavit notes. Instead, she encountered Johnson.
“The defendant told the customer to ‘go and die, fat b,’ then produced a knife from his right pants pocket and wielded it in front of her, in a circular motion,” the affidavit reads.
The woman informed police that the display frightened her, prompting her to step back and immediately call authorities. Johnson allegedly provided a different account of the events.
The affidavit indicates that Johnson admitted to drawing the knife but claimed he did so because the woman was filming him with her cellphone. He reportedly told police he “wielded the knife, without saying anything more to her.”
The customer testified that she began recording Johnson only after he had allegedly drawn the knife, according to the affidavit. The confrontation concluded without any physical injury to the woman.
Police arrested Johnson and filed the assault charge last week. His next court appearance is scheduled for November 20.
