A father has been charged with child abuse after police claim his 8-week-old infant was taken to the hospital with multiple broken bones.
Kymauri Johnson, 20, transported his 8-week-old kid to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital on September 10 with injuries that were subsequently discovered to include “several” fractured bones and internal ailments, according to a Walker Police Department press release. Detectives and Children’s Protective Services workers investigated the infant’s injuries and, after speaking with family members, found that Johnson was to blame.
Johnson was arrested the following day and charged with one count of second-degree child abuse. He is being jailed at the Kent County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Police stated the baby has now been released from the hospital.
