2 more suspects charged in CTA murder

Two more teens have been charged with fatally pushing a man off a CTA train in Chicago’s South Side.

Christian McBounds, 18, a resident of the 11200 block of South Carpenter in Chicago, has been charged with three counts of murder and one count each of aggravated violence of a transit passenger and mob action.

He was also arrested for an outstanding warrant.

A 15-year-old boy was also charged with three counts of murder and one case of aggravated battery on a transport passenger, as well as mob action.

On September 21, members of the Chicago Police Department’s Area 1 Homicide Investigations Support Team apprehended McBounds in the 11200 block of South Carpenter.

The 15-year-old was apprehended by the Support Team on Wednesday in the 7300 block of South Racine.

McBounds and the 15-year-old were identified as additional defendants who used force to shove a 29-year-old man from a moving Chicago Transit Authority train on September 7, killing him on the first block of West 69th Street in the city’s Greater Grand Crossing area.

Two other people, Katlar Parchman and a 15-year-old girl, have also been charged in the event.

Parchman, 19, a resident of the 100 block of North Keeler Avenue in Chicago, has also been charged with three counts of murder and one count of aggravated battery of a transit passenger and mob action.

The 15-year-old girl was charged with two charges of murder and one count each of mob action and aggravated violence on a transport passenger.

On September 16, investigators detained Parchman in the 200 block of North Keeler.

On September 11, the Homicide Investigative Support Team apprehended the 15-year-old girl in the 400 block of West 76th Street.

Chicago police stated the Area 1 Detective Division is still investigating the situation.

McBounds and Parchman are expected to appear in the George N. Leighton Criminal Courthouse on Wednesday at 2600 S. California Ave. in Chicago.
