The father of the 18-year-old student detained on September 24 after a gun was discovered inside his bookbag during a regular weapons check at Scott High School was charged with a school-related incident that same day.
Nesbitt Carter, 61, has been charged with disrupting school activities.
He appeared in court on September 29, and his bail was set at $10,000. The case was continued until Wednesday.
Carter was accused of storming into the cafeteria and refusing to leave.
Officers claimed he stated, “I’m not going anywhere. I have a concealed carry permit and a gun. I do not care about your badge. You want to be a cop. You cannot tell me what to do. “I’m also wearing a vest.”
The warrant described the encounter as threatening, producing alarm and disruption.
