Man arrested and charged with murder after couple brutally attacked, robbed in Fells Point

Baltimore police said that a man has been detained and charged with murder in connection with the attack and robbery of an elderly couple in broad daylight at Fells Point.

Montray McCray, 32, of Baltimore, has been detained, according to police.

On Thursday afternoon, authorities revealed that Claudia Bismark, 76, had died as a result of her injuries.

On September 29, McCray was wanted for assaulting and robbing a 60-year-old man and 76-year-old Bismark in the 1700 block of Fleet Street.

The pair was attacked at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, just a few blocks from Broadway Market, where a friend, Takeya Little, said the two had just had breakfast.

According to police, a man assaulted the couple and knocked them to the ground before stealing one of their wallets. Both victims were transported to the hospital.

As of Wednesday, September 30, Little stated that Wade is healing.

On October 1, police said they detained McCray in the unit block of South Carrollton Avenue.

McCray’s criminal record includes multiple domestic violence arrests and driving infractions over the last five years. His first criminal charges date back ten years to 2016.

McCray was brought to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he will face charges including murder, assault, robbery, and reckless endangerment, according to officials.
