The mother of a woman who went missing on a trip with her boyfriend in Illinois told Fox News Digital that “he has changed his story a couple of times” as police search for her.
The Palatine Police Department said that Alyssa Smith, 24, has been missing since September 30. According to her mother, Rebecca Smith, her daughter went missing while on a trip to Chicago with her boyfriend and did not come home.
“We’re going through hell,” she explained. “I want her home. We miss her. Her sisters are waiting for her to get home.
Rebecca Smith has been posting and distributing flyers on social media appealing for her daughter’s release.
Rebecca Smith said that her boyfriend, Jacob Ray Caso, did not return home from Chicago with Alyssa. He’s altered his narrative several times, so I’m a little confused,” she stated, adding that she “had a terrific relationship” with him.
Caso is not accused of any crime or violation.
Fox News Digital spoke with his mother, who stated that he has returned to the Chicago area three times to find Alyssa.
She stated that he does not want to speak on the case at this time.
He reshared Smith’s missing people poster on social media with the message “Time to come home,” he added. “No one is mad at you.” Since receiving the missing-person report, Palatine officials’ investigators have been actively investigating Smith’s location and following up on information about potential sightings,” officials said.
According to reports, Smith was spotted Saturday, Oct. 3, in the Grant Park area, near Cicero Avenue and Roosevelt Road.
Investigators are seeking to confirm these sightings and obtain more information about her current location.

She has multiple body piercings and tattoos, most notably a “Pennywise” clown tattoo on her left shoulder.
