Parents ‘confined’ child in wooden box, keep other in playpen for 20 hours and refuse to bathe either: Police

Two Oklahoma parents stand accused of confining one child in a wooden box and another in a playpen for hours, while neglecting to bathe them.

Sara Tudor, 46, and Michael Brown, 43, each face three counts of child neglect, according to the District 21 District Attorney’s Office, and both were booked into the Garvin County Jail.

On July 27, a Garvin County schoolteacher reached out to the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) about three children, aged 9, 8 and 4. The teacher told state officials she “was concerned for their well‑being,” the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) reported.

The district attorney’s office received the tip and, on July 31, asked OSBI to investigate the children’s situation.

OSBI agents launched the investigation and quickly identified the parents as Tudor and Brown.

Human Services officials learned that “one of the children was confined to a wooden box and the other was confined to a playpen for at least 20 hours,” authorities said. “They also learned the children were not fed properly and did not receive showers or baths.”

State officials later removed the children from the home and placed them with foster families. Medical evaluations concluded that “each suffered from psychological abuse due to confinement and infantilization.”

Authorities added that the children “suffered from abuse due to the inadequate physical care and hazardous living conditions.”

Tudor and Brown were arrested on Oct. 8; their court appearance date remains unknown.

Garvin County lies in south‑central Oklahoma, roughly 60 miles south of Oklahoma City.
