A Florida man allegedly stabbed his mother 30 times because he was “tired” of her “bothering” him, then texted a photo of her body to the family group chat and wrote, “she is dead.”

Manuel Farfan‑Cabello, 28, faces a first‑degree murder charge for the killing of his 58‑year‑old mother, Ylda Cabello‑Ynocente.

Around 7:45 p.m. Friday, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office answered a stabbing call at the 5300 block of NW 28th Street in Tamarac, according to a press release.

A probable‑cause affidavit shows Farfan‑Cabello dialed 911 and told operators he had killed his mother. He claimed he stabbed her about four hours earlier and later threw the knife into a nearby pond.

Deputies arrived, placed him under arrest, and secured the scene.

Inside the home, officers discovered “a substantial amount of blood throughout the living room and kitchen areas.” Deputies noted that Cabello‑Ynocente’s body was “stiff and cold to the touch” and pronounced her dead.

Investigators also traced a blood trail from the house to a neighbor’s porch. Surveillance footage from that residence captured Farfan‑Cabello ringing the doorbell earlier that night.

Family members said a relative in Peru called to report that “something horrible had occurred” at the home. Farfan‑Cabello’s aunt later informed police that her nephew used his mother’s phone to send a family‑group message stating, “she is dead,” in Spanish.

“Please forgive me, but God told me to do it,” one alleged message read.

When relatives asked for proof, he sent a photo, police said.

The image showed the victim lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

Farfan‑Cabello then spoke with another family member on the phone.

“I killed my mom,” he allegedly said. “Yes. I was tired of her. She was bothering me too much, and I am here with God.”

Detectives wrote that he later claimed he intended to burn her body, but family members persuaded him to call the police instead.

Relatives told investigators that Farfan‑Cabello has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and other mental‑health conditions. In an interview with local NBC affiliate WTVJ, they explained that he had struggled for years and frequently experienced hallucinations.

An autopsy confirmed that Farfan‑Cabello stabbed his mother 30 times, the affidavit noted.

He remains in the Broward County Jail without bond. A judge appointed a public defender and ordered a mental‑health evaluation.
