The lottery identified the 48-year-old man as having matched the winning numbers: 4, 16, 28, 30, 36, and 37. He won on August 15, 2026, and wished to remain anonymous.
“I play Lotto 47 and other draw games on a regular basis because I believe you can’t win until you play. The day following the drawing, I checked the Michigan Lottery app to see what the winning numbers were.
When I realized I had matched all six and won the $6.79 million jackpot, I wanted to shout! I kept blinking, thinking, ‘This can’t be right.’ “It was unbelievable,” the man said, recalling how he discovered he had won the enormous reward.
Naturally, the player chose to cash out the entire amount in one lump sum rather than waiting for annuity payments, reducing his total to $4.7 million – a still acceptable number that they can utilize to obtain financial freedom and make immediate financial arrangements.
The victor already knows what he plans to do with the money, which includes buying a house, investing, and taking a few trips to make the most of his good fortune.
