Federal fugitive apprehended in Indianapolis

The Federal Bureau of Investigation reported Thursday that agents apprehended Lamar Browning, a man wanted for his role in a drug trafficking organization.

According to the FBI, Browning was a member of a criminal organization known as the “Crown Hill Enterprise” and assisted them in operating a drug trafficking conspiracy in which methamphetamine, crack cocaine, powder cocaine, heroin, oxycodone pills, and fentanyl were sold and distributed from several trap houses in Indianapolis, Lafayette, and surrounding Indiana communities from early 2019 until December 2024.

Browning was issued an arrest warrant in March of last year after being accused in federal court with conspiracy to distribute dangerous drugs.

Browning was detained by FBI investigators in Indianapolis about 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, according to the agency.
