Police: 6 People Arrested In $1.4 Million Peoria Fraud Scheme

Six people in Peoria are accused of participating in a fraud operation involving over a million dollars in merchandise purchased with stolen credit cards.

Police in Peoria say the group used stolen credit card information from Walmart customer accounts to purchase things online before exporting them to Vietnam in shipping containers.

According to investigators, the two-month scheme began when a Walmart delivery person reported delivering many products under different names to the same Peoria residence.

Six suspects were detained and placed into jail. They’re being held in $500,000 cash-only bonds.

Police report that they recovered $25,000 in items, $35,000 in cash, and $45,000 in gold bars.
