A Villa Park man has been charged after selling methamphetamine to an undercover police officer on three separate occasions.
The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office stated that the Elmhurst Police Department, in collaboration with the Chicago Police Department, identified 35-year-old Peter Thomas as a potential source of methamphetamine sales in the DuPage County area.
On August 31, 2026, an undercover police officer called Thomas and agreed to purchase an 8-ball of methamphetamine the next day. According to authorities, the officer met Thomas at a store in Elmhurst’s 100 block of West First Street and paid $40 for approximately 4.26 grams of methamphetamine.
Furthermore, the undercover cop allegedly purchased methamphetamine from Thomas twice more, the first time for 3.27 grams on September 30 and the second for 7.33 grams on October 28. According to authorities, each of these transactions took place in Thomas’ residence.
Following the Oct. 28 transaction, Thomas went to the aforementioned company on West First Street and was apprehended as he exited his vehicle. He was also discovered carrying a baggie containing approximately 29.48 grams of methamphetamine in his jeans pocket, according to officials.
Thomas has since been charged with three charges of methamphetamine distribution, one count of possession with intent to deliver, and two misdemeanors.
He appeared in court Thursday morning and was given pre-trial parole; however, he is not permitted to possess or consume alcohol, cannabis, or other controlled substances that are not medically prescribed. He also has to submit to tests.
Thomas’s next court appearance is planned for Monday, November 23.
