2 Men Arrested And Charged After Memphis Safe Task Force Seizure Of Guns And Drugs

Two men were arrested and charged with various felonies after the Memphis Safe Task Force and the Memphis Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit (OCU) executed search warrants on Wednesday.

Darrious McCraven, 35, and Marcus McCraven, 42, were detained at a home in the 4600 block of Scottsdale Ave in the Parkway Village community.

Six weapons and a large number of illegal substances, including fentanyl, cocaine, cocaine base (crack), and ecstasy, were seized because of search warrants executed at two distinct locations.

“I’m proud of the outstanding work by our Organized Crime Unit who are supported by our

federal Task Force partners in tackling violent crime in Memphis,” said MPD Cheif CJ Davis. “This major arrest demonstrates the power of agencies working together with a single goal: keeping our neighborhoods safe. Removing dangerous drugs and illegal guns from our streets is a critical step toward creating a Stronger, Safer Memphis for everyone.”

Darrious McCraven is charged with three counts: possession of a firearm while committing or attempting to conduct a violent felony, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Marcus McCraven is charged with four counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, four counts of possessing a firearm while committing or attempting to commit a violent felony, possession of a controlled substance with intent to supply, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The two guys are set to appear in court on Monday, October 27.
