A man was shot five times while standing on a Northwest Side sidewalk Tuesday afternoon, according to Chicago police.
Around 2:30 p.m., police reported a shooting in the 1000 block of North Lawndale Avenue in the Humboldt Park area.
A male suspect, whose age was not immediately known, approached a 38-year-old guy on the sidewalk and shot him in the torso, according to police.
The suspect fled southbound.
The person was seriously injured and sent to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Chopper 7 flew over the site, where many evidence markers littered the ground.
There is no one in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.
Police did not immediately release more details regarding the shooting.
