Attacker punches 67-year-old man in face and smashes his phone on UES street

Police released security footage of a man wanted for punching a 67-year-old man in an unprovoked attack on the Upper East Side on Monday.

The suspect approached the victim about 9:37 a.m., near Lexington Avenue and East 87th Street, according to the NYPD.

According to police, the suspect hit the victim in the face, then repeatedly slammed the victim’s cellphone to the ground before fleeing on foot southbound on Lexington Ave.

The victim suffered noticeable injuries, including swelling and bruises, but was not hospitalized as a result of the incident.

The suspect was last seen dressed in a black jacket, black jeans, and black sneakers.
