A woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for setting her boyfriend on fire.

Kalena Stubbs, 51, has pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated violence toward her former boyfriend.

On January 16, deputies from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call for help regarding a man who had been burned and required medical attention.

Authorities discovered severe burns all over the man’s torso, upper arms, and face. AirCare transported him to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment of the injuries he sustained.

Investigators instantly noted that his garments had not been torched and questioned Stubbs, who admitted to changing his clothes before contacting 911.

When her partner was able to talk, he reported that Stubbs doused him with lighter fluid and lit him on fire while they were bickering.
