Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a 20-year-old suspect Wednesday afternoon, December 3rd, following a bank jugging incident that began in New Caney and finished in Spring.

The victim told deputies that he took cash from a bank in New Caney and then traveled to Spring to execute a private transaction. When he arrived, an unidentified individual approached his vehicle, took the money, and fled. Recognizing that someone was following him from the bank, the victim promptly dialed 911.

A swift, coordinated response was launched across multiple agencies. Montgomery County deputies, Splendora Police Department officers, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, and Precinct 4 constables formed a perimeter around the location. K-9 teams and drones were sent in to track down the culprit, who fled on foot.

The search concluded about 12:30 p.m., when cops discovered and detained 20-year-old David Tramaine Florence within the perimeter. Investigators believe Florence is involved in further crimes, and the investigation is ongoing.

Sheriff Wesley Doolittle congratulated the authorities involved, stating that their excellent coordination helped bring the event to a quick and safe conclusion. He said that the county will continue to take strong action against bank jugging, calling it a felony that will not be tolerated in Montgomery County.
