A gang leader from Brooklyn was sentenced to prison for plaguing Upper Manhattan with gun violence and drug trafficking, according to federal prosecutors.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office, 29-year-old Hugo Rodriguez led the “Own Every Dollar” group in Washington Heights.
The investigation resulted in the convictions of 22 members for five killings, over ten attempted murders, many robberies, and a massive drug operation.
Officials said Rodriguez will serve 15 years in prison, despite having previously served several years for prior crimes.
