In a recent update provided by the Columbus Police, officials have apprehended Tyrek Simpson in connection with the fatal shooting of Lamar O. Ross, the arrest following the issuance of a murder warrant, according to a press release from the Columbus Division of Police. On the morning of November 21, Columbus police responded to reports of a shooting on N. High Street, where officers discovered Ross with gunshot wounds and immediately attempted lifesaving efforts.
Simpson was apprehended by the Columbus Police SWAT squad yesterday, December 4, effectively ending the search for Ross’s alleged assailant.
Ross, who suffered apparent gunshot wounds following the November incident, was rushed to the hospital by CFD Medic 10 but was pronounced dead at 3:28 AM, a tragedy made all the more palpable by the fact that officers had rendered aid in the hopes of a different outcome.
