One person apprehended after major drug bust in Texas

A narcotics investigation in Zapata County led to one arrest and the confiscation of a large amount of illegal drugs, according to authorities.

According to the Zapata County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and special agents conducted the investigation on Thursday, December 11, in the 1200 block of Bravo Avenue in Zapata.

During the operation, authorities seized 93 individually packaged crack cocaine pieces and 22 grams of powdered cocaine.

Investigators have apprehended Almicar Vargas Jr., 34. Investigators have charged him with manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance.

Vargas was taken to the Zapata County Regional Jail, where he was booked and processed. The investigation is underway.
