A murder suspect in Mississippi has reportedly been arrested by the Memphis Safe Task Force.

The Memphis Safe Task Force said that 24-year-old Dandre Ashby was arrested on Commerce Parkway in Horn Lake on Thursday evening.

The task force said Ashby was arrested in connection with Adrien Prewitt’s shooting death. Prewitt was allegedly shot to death during a robbery attempt on February 2, 2025.

The task force claims that Ashby is the second shooter involved in the crime. The task team reportedly apprehended two additional suspects, Machaela Shelton and Darreone McDowell, earlier this year.

The task team suspects Shelton of preparing Prewitt for a robbery with Ashby and McDowell. The task force alleges that Ashby and McDowell shot Prewitt many times during the robbery.

According to the Memphis Safe Task Force, Ashby was apprehended peacefully.
